As with most Manfrotto units the price is a bit unacceptable but if you can get over that you get a very good unit. I use it on my Geekoto tripods (which I also recommend) and it fits perfectly but will work on any tripod with a 3/8 screw. The level of precision you can achieve with this head is insane. I think that's good, right?! The build quality is excellent, it feels strong in the hand but feels solid like a tank. Quick-release knobs make large adjustments easy, allowing you to get closer to your goal and then fine-tune it with superfine precision using the external knobs. Make these tiny adjustments when you zoom to 300mm and you won't have to spend another hour looking for your target again :-)
