Review on 🧩 Puzzles for Educating Domestic Creatures' Thinking Abilities by Jason Laney

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Well made, bright colors but too light for a 2 year old.

These puzzles have become beautiful and strong and very colorful. However, the description says they are for 1, 2 and 3 year olds. My grandson is 2 so I assumed they would be perfect and would keep him busy. This wasn't the case because they were too easy and I think are more suitable for children aged one to 18 months or maybe a two year old who is still learning the basic colors. For example, in a jigsaw puzzle, you have big colorful animal figures that match the big colorful animals. He solved the puzzle in under a minute, not because he was advanced, but because it was too obvious. Additionally, the manufacturer thought that adding tiny "finger holes" next to each board cutout would make it easier for small hands to grip or place parts. Being part of the shape of the puzzle piece, not an aid to their placement. If there were no holes, he would solve the puzzles in 30 seconds. These puzzles are made to last, but once he put them together they were set aside and never used again. They were also very overpriced in terms of time, usage, and the amount of pleasure they provided in my case. Like I said, a 1 year old or 18 month old will find this much more to their liking.
