Well it works! I installed it on a 2011 Prius. This is a known issue. In fact, upon replacing it, I found that it had already been replaced before I bought the car. Anyone who has ever done this installed this stupid cable holder incorrectly. The ones some smart guy put in front of one of the screws holding the fan. error prone. I wonder if that's because it's off axis. It is located at an angle, which creates additional loads. If it fails in a few years, it's not the end of the world. Aside from that pesky cable bracket, it's easy to replace. At least louder than the original. I think. In the end, the original made no sound because it didn't work. The fit was perfect.
