Review on VTech Marble Rush Launchpad Multicolor by Ken Hamdan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well designed and fun to play

The VTech Marble Rush Launch Pad Kit is a great starter kit for kids to start having fun with the marble craze. unfortunately not compatible with Duplos or regular Lego). But for Marble Rush, the challenge is creating builds that let you roll marbles up ramps and jumps. This set contains 5 base plates that connect together in a variety of ways to help you customize your build. The instructions are very detailed with a map/grid to help you figure out where to place the next pieces. The child will probably have to be 5 to 6 years old before they can probably figure out how to follow directions. The guide has three assembly examples and offers three sizes/difficulty levels. I think it's helpful if you start with Build 1 or 2 first to understand how the pieces fit together before moving on to Build Level 3 or making your own creations. Kids seem to love the endless replay value in a set like this. I love that you don't just throw the balloon over your head and watch it fly. Instead, this set includes a few interactive elements that add fun and challenge as you move the ball around the lane and can even create a loop to keep the ball moving. Building a fully functional loop relies on your child's ability to control the vertical balloon launcher, which is admittedly difficult. But it allows your child to blow the balloon all the way up so it can roll back down. You really need to use the vertical blaster on a flat, hard, level surface for it to work. Carpets are too resilient to generate enough force to hurl marble into the sky. This vertical launcher is one of the coolest things in the set, but also arguably its biggest downside due to how difficult it is to use. Another unique part of this set is the rocket ship. The rocket ship uses 2 AA batteries (included and installed) and has two volume levels. It also has 2 settings. Setting one activates the sound effect when the balloon passes the bottom of the ship, and setting the second value plays one of three songs. This is a nice feature and parents can slide it to the off position without interfering with the marble's movement if it gets too annoying. All in all, this is a fun set that will provide lots of fun for children aged 3-8 years. Offer. Just note that it comes with 10 balls which are a choking hazard so don't give it to children who still put toys in their mouths.
