I bought a pump and an extra 20ft hose to dump my RV while cleaning out my garage. My uncle used it for many years before Thetford bought the product. The total distance to the latrine was about 35 feet, with only 3 feet above the house. The host was laid flat on the concrete with no twists or turns. When I turned on the pump, the hose expanded and made many full circles about every 12 inches. As I walked around the van to see this, two hoses broke and I was pumping raw sewage through my garage. on the other side of the van and shut off the pump, but the damage was done. I called my uncle and explained what had happened and he said he never had a problem with the hose but then again he bought it when SaniCon was independent. I called Thetford the following Monday and after an hour of waiting I decided their system would call me back. They called me back and said they had never heard of it. I was promised a call back from the product manager but didn't receive a call after a week. I ended up sending the entire purchase back because even if I could fix the hose issue my relationship with Thetford customer service was not encouraging. Make sure it was the ONLY open hose and my wife kept the open end in a portable dumpster. (She's a soldier!). I made a video of what the hose does when the pump is on. It is attached to this review. Leaving the pump on keeps the hose looping, which I'm sure is when the hoses have separated. Note that I also suggested this video to Thetford. Both the hose that came with the unit and the additional 20ft hose I purchased showed the same issue as shown in the video. This test was just the original piece of 20 foot hose.
