My daughter always wears Vans and since she had purple and blue it was time to buy RED! Vans are what kids currently wear to school and have been inexpensive ever since. I don't mind buying new ones when the old pair is worn out. Abrasion: The shoe is quite durable, but since it is not made of leather but of fabric (canvas), it stretches quite easily. The color also fades fairly quickly, but that could be due to the hot Hawaiian sun. The tread doesn't wear out as quickly, however. The color is white and quickly turns brown. Desire came in black. Also, it may be worth buying a pair of insoles as the ones that come with the kit also wear out and tear quickly.
