They fit well and there is a velcro closure on the front.
I bought these for my 5 year old and bought them a size up. They fit well and there is velcro on the front to tighten them with a drawstring at the top. We have 6 inches of snow in North Carolina and he could be outside for hours without complaining.

Cons
- My son usually wears a size 5 and they were VERY large. They are about 2 sizes too big.
