Update 11/20/19: Return of the first Mark III. Then they announced the firmware for the "Fix" autofocus, and I decided to take the camera again. The new update gives you 2 autofocus options: mode 1 (the "new" focus update) and mode 2 (the existing autofocus). The difference between the two is subtle, but Mode 1 is slightly better, but not great. The focus is soft and loses the subject randomly, even when on a tripod. I was really hoping that the update would fix the camera enough to be able to use it for vlogging and family travel movies, but it still doesn't. To return. Again.--------------------Avoid this camera! Video auto focus when it works is terrible! Even if the focus frame is around the subject, it's probably out of focus. 4k is a waste of time - it overheats in about 2-3 minutes. 1080/30 looks ok, but (in my opinion) 25 fps looks a lot better in PAL mode (completely baffled as to why Canon dropped 24 fps on their latest cameras). It's as if Canon released a beta version of this camera instead of a finished product. I've had a Mark II for a few years now, it's still a great camera and performs significantly better than the Mark III.
