Very surprised by the negative reviews and complaints from iMac owners about the 720p limit. Mine was a week ago, between the FIOS cable box and a 27" iMac mid 2010 and it works really well. I've tried looking at it up close (3ft) and in a small room (8ft) and they both look fine. Not the same as mine Samsung 42" 1080p or my Sony HiDef projector on a 100" screen but looks great for a small, slightly dark room. Also surprised by complaints about the heat - I'm warm but not hot. Installation was pure plug -and-Play HDMI from cable box to StarTech and StarTech plugged into my DisplayPort and it worked straight away Clear video, acceptable sound - no complaints about 720p resolution on a 27" screen. That's exactly what I found I used to watch news, episodic movies and record TV shows from my centralized DVR.
