Review on JBL Clip 4: Portable Mini Bluetooth Speaker with Big Audio, Punchy Bass, and Carabiner - Gray by Dennis Goozmer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My new favorite Sub-Portable

Battery life update: I haven't used it for more than 3-4 hours at a time so I can't comment on the claimed 10 hour battery life. What can I say, it lasted several 6-8 hours of combined usage and the power light was still on, allowing you to work longer before charging. I only had the volume at 50% while listening. I have 2 Altec Lansing H2O (for stereo), Clarion (FM, TF card) and ION Clip. Even with an 8W Clarion and Altec Lansing stereo, the JBL excels in clarity, bass and volume. The ION clip is more compact but definitely doesn't fit JBL 4. The clip can be used as a handle and the raised controls are easy to use. Pairing with my iPhone XR was quick and smooth, and auto-connecting to my phone is easy when it's on. I was playing a movie and there were no voices. The price could have been at least $10 less, but using a Revain gift card reduced the cost. I bought the black one because the gray one I really wanted was $10 more expensive. I also opted for a silicone case with built-in "legs" that act as a stand (see photo). I just got the speaker so I can't rate the battery life yet. If it works I'll edit my review. Bluetooth range is better than expected. I tested it from 2 rooms, where multiple walls blocked the connection (at about 60 feet) and there was no hesitation in the connection. The music played smoothly. So far I'm happy with the JBL 4 and hope so
