Bought three of these for a new pendant lamp to hang over the dining table. They were supposed to be rated for 60 watt lightbulbs, but if we were to use regular lightbulbs like we have on all the ceiling fans in our house (because they came with their standard 60 watt lightbulbs), the space wouldn't be very large well lit. . But with these magical little villains, when the lights come on in our new dining room, they light up the whole house. (That's because the dining room, kitchen, and living room are all one "big room.") We didn't expect that difference at all, but now we often turn on the lights in our dining room for the experience of being downstairs a lot feel more alive. Since all of my ceiling fans burn out over time, I will only be buying these incredibly bright lightbulbs to replace them. At $10 per bulb, they're quite expensive, but their quality and amazing brightness fully justify the cost. Some people complain of broken filaments on arrival and if this happens you should get a replacement. (Some things fail or break in transit. That's life.) Others complain about the short lifespan of lightbulbs. My three have only been in use for about 5-6 weeks and I'm just hoping they last at least a year, especially considering how much I use them. If I can squeeze a year out of each lightbulb, it's still going to cost me $10 (each).
