Price is one of the two advantages of this paper plate. Second best is that it's paper, not styrofoam or wax. This means that it can be easily composted in landfills. I bought them to put canned kittens in. The problem was, they weren't made to keep anything wet. They can be a decent support for drinks to collect condensation or store cookies, but I wouldn't trust them to hold a salad or anything wet. This doubles for wet and hot. I ended up with twice the thickness, which negated the small price saving. Before you buy, think carefully about what you intend to use them for. They would probably be good to use for children.
