Order one size up. I ordered a large and my dogs usually wear medium, but the leg openings are wide for small dogs, even medium. My chihuahuas weigh 12 pounds. They are thin but soft and very colorful. My dogs can wear these jackets when it's not that cold. I would probably order them again depending on how well they hold up on the gentle cycle. I paid $18 for 4 of them. If the price goes even higher I won't buy them because they're thin but I'll let them wear on warmer days or wear one of their thicker fleece jackets that I have on. These are my favorite colors so I had to order and try them.
