Strong adhesive but leaves a film

I was looking for an easy way to make waterproof, shower washable bottle labels. This is a relatively inexpensive solution without having to buy heavy Xyron machines that are too expensive for a home hobbyist. Pros: Waterproof - as long as they work in the shower. I don't dip the labels in a water bath, but they do get wet. Thickness - The lamination is very thick making the label nice and stiff and much easier to work with, especially if your label is quite large. - They won't wrinkle, crumple, stick together or make a mess. Strong adhesive Easily displaces air bubbles. Cons: Thickness - when you are making a small item and it needs to wrap around something with texture or something with a curve. the adhesive tends to crack, causing the laminated product to lay flat again. Haze - the result of the lamination is NOT OBVIOUS. Pretty cloudy. I printed the labels on transparencies and tried to waterproof the labels and put them on pump bottles with this Xyron product. I don't know if it's glue on the back, but it definitely has a noticeable light gray film on it. This cloud was enhanced by the fact that I used clear film on a clear bottle. If you use colored objects, you will not see films in the places where there is paper; You can still see it around the edges though, as you really need to leave at least an eighth of an inch from the paper to the edge of the lamination. I've included photos so you can see what I mean by film. The first picture shows how transparent the film is before I applied the Xyron. The second picture shows a cloudy film. I inserted an image
