Update 11/22/16: This device still works. The only time I've had a problem with anything is when the batteries in my remote died. Since I only need it to communicate with my TV, not too much can go wrong and I found the device to respond perfectly to my TV remote even if I was ever in that room (I spend most of my time at 8am ). -12 feet from TV). The soundbar above has a USB connector which made it easy to power this IR module, but the cables are quite long allowing for other options if I ever need them). As long as this unit lasts (there are some reviews saying it has failed) this is a solid 5 star buy, especially given the price.
