as a short-term solution because my shower stall had a crack. I patched the crack with fiberglass but I wasn't able to support the stall under the crack as well as I would like. This is perfect, it distributes the weight to the sides where the stall is well supported. I weigh 180 and it doesn't even flex when I'm on it. It is convenient to stand on it, since the boards are close to each other. As for the faux wood, it looks pretty good. There is a molded texture. Although it could look even better if the color was a little darker or a little more uneven, like natural wood. But overall I'm quite satisfied.
