I don't like it but there aren't many suitable alternatives

I'm not crazy about this product at all. I bought it to keep my own journals and journals for friends, but I've had a lot of trouble using this product. My biggest problem is that it's not obvious when your stack of sheets is pushed all the way to the back. I had to throw away a lot of pages because the machine resists you making you think the stack is pitched to the back which makes you think it's safe to punch holes and align them. Since you can't punch all the holes required for half-letter pages, you'll end up with misaligned holes if you're not careful. Also when you stamp chipboard (for hardcover books), the holes get stuck inside very easily and you will end up with misaligned holes. After all, paper jams often occur when punching through a stack of sheets. You have to be very careful when pulling out the stack, which means it will take a very long time to create a whole book. For now I'm sticking with this pesky device because I don't have anything else to use. Update (12/6/2016): The more I use it, the more I hate it. I hate the mounting system, I recommend finding something other than their wire mounts, maybe disc clamps. It's more like the glorified hole punch, which is very cumbersome to use. I think I could look into other methods. probably an electric punch, who can punch a lot of those holes, if they make any at all. i just hate it
