Huge difference compared to using the built in mic on both a phone and a DSLR. Works great for its attractive price. It still picks up some background noise, which I don't want, but it doesn't matter because the voice of the person speaking into the mic is crystal clear. DSLR (Canon Rebel SL1) where they act as newscasters and deliver announcements to parents. They feel formal with this microphone and the voices of other children in the background no longer drown out their voices. It is extremely easy to use and the length of the cable is long enough for the camera to move freely. Often the wire is too long, but that's not a problem because I pinch the excess wire and tie it with tape.
