I bought this to protect my recently new glasses around the same time I bought these. Every time I go for an eye exam I look at my glasses and wonder where the scratches are coming from?! Well, basically the reason is that before bed. On a VERY long, busy day, I don't care what happens if I drop it on my bedside table or on the floor, which can be easily scratched that way. So I bought this to protect it, even on a long busy day I still force myself to put it there. I love it and I expect to find it right where I left off. The pad is so comfortable on the glasses and it almost cleans the lenses by itself every time I put it in there. I want the base to be heavy so I can't easily tip it over when I wake up to take my glasses. But based on my experience browsing Amazon. It easily gets 5 stars.
