I have 50mm 1.8. I decided that by the birth of my son I need to buy a sabzhe glass, because I expected more speed from him (the children are fidgety - you have to keep up!), sharpness, and the aperture ratio will not be superfluous. I tested it on targets in the store - everything works - I took it. It focuses quickly, but rarely hits - you need a very contrasting object (it will hit exactly, but there will be chromaticity). In life view with magic lantern firmware, you can point exactly where you want (through the viewfinder it didn’t work for me), but I somehow stopped feeling the advantage in speed compared to 50mm 1.8. Immediately there were doubts. I won’t talk about the fact that it’s not easy to get into the object at 1.4. I shot facial portraits at 1.8 quite sharply, but not prohibitively, as they say - no better than fifty dollars 50mm 1.8! But lighter on the same apertures. The more you cover the aperture, the less difference. At the same distances from the object at the same apertures, these lenses show the same blur. I didn’t even use Sharp before him, but I started with him . And our story with him ended with the fact that he fell to the floor and jammed - he did not wait for the package with the lens hood and filters . Repair is half the cost of the lens. I decided - no! She died so dead! It’s good that I didn’t sell 50mm 1.8, as I wanted at first! My formed opinion is that glass is not made clear for what and for whom, you should not buy it. P / S / Someone considers it important - I have a 550D.
