They said it was better to wash by hand in soapy water. I did in the beginning but it takes forever for the water in it to dry and not get water into my oils. Put in a top rack dishwasher and they did a great job. Nice dried. Just make sure all the water is out of the pumping chambers. Works great for my needs. I will order in a smaller size. Looking for 10 ounces. the size.
