I have a 2013 Ford F-150 3.5L V6 EcoBoost. I had trouble towing up steep hills and the truck started overheating. I had a new (Freak-O-Boost) aftermarket cooler installed and also had this trans cooler installed at the same time. The fan turns on along with the radiator fan. A combination of both seemed to solve my problem. A full trailer load is approximately 6,200 pounds. I raised it to Sherwin's level (passing Bishop in California on the way to Mammoth). Anyone who has driven a 395 knows the class. This transcooler has done its job! If you're complaining about the noise when it's on, I suggest you drive in a Prius. The fan turns off as soon as the temperature drops. A good product.
