I love the costume! I have a very fluffy Pomeranian and this keeps his coat clean when it's wet and uncomfortable outside. I prefer the thin material because my dog has a double coat so he doesn't need warmth just protection from water and dirt. If you need warmth, buy one of the Helio winter suits, not a raincoat. Half of the legs are open and maybe a bit more on a larger dog, but I'd rather just wash his legs/paws than bother with his whole body. I've had it for a few years now and haven't had any problems so far. He doesn't wear it all the time, only when it's very wet and muddy outside. I hand wash when it's dirty and let it air dry. I agree that the bottom zipper is in an awkward place and difficult to close, snaps would be better.
