UPDATE - February 2016 I recently bought another Sleepypod for my mum so she can walk my dog when she sits with her dog. The quality seems the same but the smell out of the box is TERRIBLE. The pod (cloth, mesh, lining, everything) gave off a horrible, toxic chemical smell. We washed the inner lining twice and had to leave the Sleepypod out in the sun in our garden for a whole week, and even then we still had to decontaminate it like crazy. I couldn't let my poor dog get caught up in that smell, no matter how sensitive his sense of smell was! I had no problems with the first Sleepypod I bought 6 years ago so I don't know if they changed their production but I wasn't comfortable with the quality of this pod. (ORIGINAL REVIEW - July 2010) The Sleepypod is probably one of the best pet carriers out there. It is aesthetically pleasing and very functional. Zipper design for changing different liners and removing the dome is effortless. Since it doubles as a pet bed and carrier, it's easy for your pet to get comfortable on the trip. The great thing about it is that it is suitable for cars. It is difficult to find such a universal mount that allows you to mount it even in the car. Sleepypod is a great product but I have to comment on the color accuracy, especially the dark chocolate. I bought dark chocolate based on the photos on the manufacturer's website. The actual color of what I bought was more of a dark plum. I would suggest seeing the colors in person before buying online as many retailers and resellers do not allow bed returns due to health reasons. Aside from the color variation, this is a great product overall.
