This case is ideal for traveling. This case is no bigger than my previous minimal cases, although it does have a built-in card reader. All in all a really great design. I recently "upgraded" from a 2013 MacBook Pro with a built in SD card reader to something lighter. Unfortunately, my new computer does not have a built-in card reader. But since I import all my photos to an external drive anyway, this case has an SD card reader as well as my 2TB SSD. The connectors feel very solid and the drive reads and writes fairly quickly (even from an SD card). The rubber bumper is removable and actually needs to be removed to open the device. Some things aren't so good: As others have pointed out, it takes a lot of force to open it. But with perseverance, he eventually opened up. I also use a thinner variant of the 2.5 inch SSD (Samsung EVO). wasn't enough I found some extra padding around the house to use, so I solved the problem fairly easily.
