I started giving my son at 8 weeks as recommended before he started riding. He accepted it very well. Anyway, he never really bothered with diapers. Then I had the brilliant idea to buy one for my daughter - she is 7 years old but very small for her age. She ALWAYS throws the blanket away and I can't get her feet warm. She is still in diapers and has a tube so we need access at night and pants are a problem. It's the perfect double zip cover! She doesn't seem to mind at all. She went straight to bed to take a nap, which never happens. Also, the fabric is everything I wanted and more. He's super soft. It's warm but not too heavy. We have 2 sage feathers and I love love love them. I can't say enough good things about this product!
