UPDATE (01/22/19): RIITOP contacted me about my speed issues and we've been told that the included cable limits the speed factor. They offered to send a faster cable. For this help and support I have increased the rating from 2/5 to 4/5 stars. ------------ Original Review Below ------------ This enclosure works perfectly, just pop in an NVME drive and watch it work. However, the speed of this body leaves much to be desired. As you can see in my screenshot, the serial speed seems to be capped at just over 305MB/s, while the same drive plugged into a real compatible M.2 NVME slot on my motherboard gets almost 10x that speed can. I connected this case to a USB port. 3.1, which manages 10 Gb/s or 1280 MB/s and doesn't even come close. The main reason to pay extra for NVME-enabled cases is the extra speed, which you just don't get. Because of this, I would only recommend this to those looking for a reliable way to extract data from an NVME drive. If you're looking for a super-fast, portable NVME solution, look elsewhere.
