It's been about a year now. Similar issue with other reviews where I heard loud pops from the subwoofer. This actually blew up the amp in my left tower. Hooked up DefTech and they sent me a new amp to replace me. At the age of 11 months my right tower blew the amp (he had a similar cracking problem which never went away). The right amp burned out when I was 11 months old and a new replacement amp was also sent to me. When I asked if this was a known issue, I got "no, they've never seen this before" and was told to check my electrical system. I did this and called an electrician. We added surge protection throughout the house, checked all neutral wires in the breaker box, upgraded the surge protection strips to APC brand, and checked the house grounds. The electrician said he didn't find the problem and I've now done my best. If I have any other concerns, it's still definitely the speaker towers themselves. I use a Marantz receiver. I added a PSP HC1C100 device for the whole house.
