Well I bought two of these in April. I've only used them a couple of times each and not for a long period of time. Yes, they got hot, but that's okay. You are fast in USB 3.0. Overall I liked the design and how the drive functioned when it was working. However, what I don't like is plugging in one of them and seeing that it has 0 out of 0 free bytes and won't open. It cannot be formatted in Windows or Ubuntu. It cannot be partitioned with Windows or any other program. This disc is DEAD. This happened a while ago, I'm just looking at my order history here and saw this pop up and realized I can't return it because the 30 day return period has expired so thought I'd check. One more thing, a 30-day return policy? Don't we expect them to last a very long time? I think it lasted a little over 30 days but only had 8 uses on it. So all the data I had on him. passed. So before you buy this, my advice would be not to make it your main storage for important things, but always have a backup somewhere else.
