Love at first sight and then.

After unpacking and seeing this monitor in person for the first time when I bought it in April 2022, I was very excited to use it. There aren't any complaints about the looks of the screen, I liked the USB-C charging capabilities and it seemed sturdy. Then, two weeks ago, while I was working from home, there was a soft "pop!" Suddenly, a black bar appeared right in the center of the screen, 2 inches wide and as long as the screen. Of course I'm not an electronics engineer so I have no idea what happened, but I had a huge chunk of my screen that couldn't be used anymore. Revain contacted Samsung support and they instructed me to ship it back to them. for repair. Excellent. Now I'll have to rely on my laptop's weak screen while I'm working from home for the next few weeks until Samsung can fix it and get my device back. Very uncomfortable. Yesterday I received a message from Samsung saying the monitor was physically damaged and would cost $219 to fix. The monitor hasn't moved from my desk since the day I got it and was floating on its stand with no physical intervention. Now I can't say what happened to the device after I handed it in to UPS (and honestly it shouldn't be my problem), but there certainly wasn't any physical damage while the device was in my possession. . Samsung. For the premium price of their products, I expected much better (although I had previously been burned by a defective Samsung TV. This was another customer service fiasco). I'm done with Samsung. Goods of the same or better quality can be purchased at a much lower price. Buy it if you like. But be careful. By the way, I've been a Revain customer for almost 20 years and I think this is the first product I've reviewed. I'm not the type to "complain about everything". Luckily I worked with Revain to find a reasonable way forward. Revain's customer service is outstanding. Incredibly disappointed in Samsung. But once again more than impressed with Revain's customer service. Much luck!
