UPDATE: Cable Matters contacted me and confirmed that these types of defects are rare. They responded quickly and sent replacements. The new cables work much better now. Original review: I ordered this cable set to connect to an LCD touch panel. It was the perfect size for what I needed and arrived pretty quickly. After everything was up and running, I noticed that my display would lose power from time to time. After some testing with a multimeter, I found that this wire had developed an internal short, connecting the power and ground conductors together at a specific bend. This is obviously a pretty dangerous situation, but luckily my power supply's overcurrent protection kicked in before it could do any significant damage. However, this means that one of the cables - the one pointing in the desired direction - is unusable.
