My mother was visiting and the first night I heard I had trouble breathing, she's from the tropics and finds the air incredibly dry here. Having never used a humidifier before I wasn't too hopeful but then I was offered a deal on this humidifier and decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. The humidifier is silent, I was afraid there would be a hiss. and has a nice blue light that can be left on as a night light. So far so good, I like it and my mother stays happy.
