Before these fans I bought 4 advertised RGB fans. Turns out that wasn't the case. The lights are static and the brightness is controlled by the fan speed. They don't look bad, but they are loud at full brightness. These fans are quieter and have separate brightness controls. There are so many RGB fans to choose from. Don't buy the cheapest. The price of these fans seems reasonable. In hindsight I should have just bought a new PC case with RGB fans instead of putting a new coat of paint on an 8 year old computer case.
