Since the toothpaste consists of activated carbon, it is completely black. It's not harmful, but it's amazing to see black toothpaste and its effect on teeth. A small child like ours may be scared, but it all washes away completely and thoroughly, leaving beautiful, white, brushed teeth. Natural sweet cherry flavor that most kids should love. Packaged/Made in the USA. It's priced at around $13, which is pretty pricey for a small 4-ounce tube of toothpaste. However, as with most toothpastes, it only takes a pea-sized scoop to effectively brush your teeth, so 4 ounces should last at least a month, if not two.
