Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280 - High-performance All-in-One CPU AIO Water Cooler, Intel & AMD Compatible, PWM Controlled Pump, Fan Speed: 200-1700 RPM - Black by Ryan Maruffo

Great cooler specially for Ryzen 3900x

Ryzen 3900x gets hot compared to the old Intel chips I'm used to. etc.) This air cooler provides idle temperatures of 38-43 C. Desktop will run up to 50 C. Gaming 60-70+ C. I always want my components to be as cold as possible to ensure long life and tinkering with overclocking is a hobby when I have time. So I read some reviews, looked at the prices, and remembered my not-so-great experience with the Corsair H100 a few years ago. This Arctic 280 (radiator mounted on top of a Corsair 540 Airflow carbide case) is great so far. Installation was easy. Fewer compounds than NH-D15. Much better airflow through the case without the huge D15 metal heatsink in the center of the board (no clearance or visibility issues). The main thing is temp for the Arctic: idle 28-32 and 10-15 degrees cooler across the board compared to the D15, which according to many reviews is the best air cooler available, and this Arctic is a few bucks cheaper than atm. EDIT: In another review, a person complained that the tiny CPU mount fan (VRM cooler) was making a lot of noise. Looking at my cooler, it seems like you can just turn off this little fan if it bothers you. However, I can't hear it, so yes.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • too dumb
