I actually tried this tool after practicing with over a dozen flashes before trying it on a real line I had installed in my car and each flash worked. comes out terrible. I followed the instructions exactly, but to no avail. I also asked for feedback on the MB forums and got some technical advice which I also tried to no avail. I used nearly three feet of test lead from the torch, then cut the failed torch off to the point where my workspace looked like a Pez dispenser had exploded. By the way, it's not like you can even close it while trying to flash. The tool was supposed to create a bubble highlight with a flat bottom like a mushroom, but it didn't. Instead, he kept doing highlights that looked like the cut had gone horribly wrong. Bottom Line: Either I can't use this tool properly, or this tool is of poor quality. Try it yourself because YRMV. Even with the prices for crimping tools, there doesn't seem to be an optimal point. I ended up taking the car to a Mercedes technician who used a $300 flare tool (also available here at Revain) and crimped my new brake line perfectly in one try. The brake line I flared was nickel-copper, FYI.
