Soft, warm and cozy!

Here’s my wife’s evaluation of this hooded flannel shirt:I love hooded flannels! I’ve had a few which wore out from frequent use in the winter and fall months. When I saw this one, I was thrilled, for several reasons.First, unlike many garments posted online these days, this one was actually 100% cotton as stated. It’s a good thing, because this "boyfriend shirt” fit kind of big. The length of the body and the sleeves was a bit much, and the girth made me look pregnant. Fortunately, it shrank to more my size after washing and drying it.Second, the fabric is soft, warm and attractive. The plaid is not printed on top of the fabric, but the cloth is yarn-dyed, so the design is woven in. It reminds me of a blanket flannel shirt I have. It will be perfect for throwing over a turtleneck or thermal Henley this fall and winter! The red, blue and tan on white will look good with jeans or khakis.Third, it has some nice features. The zippered front makes it easy to get on and off, like a jacket. The side pockets are handy for carrying tissues, keys or other small objects. For the most part, this shirt is made well. The hems are double-folded, so there are no raw edges. Most of the seams are serged and some have a mock flat-felled finish. The facings and hem of the shirt are straight and smooth. There are very few exposed edges to unravel. The drawstrings on the hood were capped with metal tips that won’t peel off like the plastic on shoelaces. However, the twill tape covering the seam around the hood came un-stitched in the wash, so I will have to sew that back down.About the only thing I wasn’t thrilled about with this shirt was that the bottom is flared like a maternity top. If it’s made to look like a boyfriend shirt, then he must have a beer belly! The price is high, too. Although I like this top, I wouldn’t want to pay $40 for it. I think something in the $20-30 range is more reasonable. However, whether you get it for yourself or as a gift for a friend, it will definitely make the winter temps more tolerable.
