Review on Medium Gordini Storm Trooper Gloves: Men's Accessories and Gloves & Mittens by Darion Wooten

Revainrating 4 out of 5

new and maybe improved?

I bought these to replace a pair of 5 year old Storm Trooper I which were the best gloves (not mittens) I have ever had. I have small, weak hands when it comes to the cold and these gloves have never let me down. The main use is snowmobiling and while they aren't the best gloves for extended periods at higher speeds (the skin on the face could cover more to fix this) because the wind eventually gets wet and through them, they got me served well for all-around use. They never leak and most importantly THE LINING NEVER COMES OFF THE SHELL which has to be the most important feature of the gloves. I could put my hands down soaking wet and it was never a problem, they held together perfectly. But alas, just like your favorite pair of shoes, all good things come to an end. The new version is very similar, still gore-tex, fit is comparable to XL (my hand circumference is 8.5", middle finger is 3.5" from tip to crotch, fingers are bony, no fat sausages) the new ones look a bit bigger than the old ones. Very thin goatskin palms have been made into textured polyurethane so we'll see how it holds up as the palms were one of the things that wore out along with some of the stitching on the old ones. The finger grips still have a thicker leather strap, which is a good thing because it definitely gets the most attention. The elastic band at the cuff closure has definitely improved. Time will tell how the new and supposedly improved version holds up, but if they even remotely resemble the old ones, I'm definitely happy.
