Review on Woods 041203 6-Outlet Side Entry Surge Protector Wall Adapter with 1000 Joules Protection - Light Grey by Stephen Pendergrass

Ok but be careful when using fridge

Sent in a padded postal delivery, arrived with the pins slightly bent and something rattling inside (probably plastic). Still works, with grounding on, so I'm assuming everything is fine and it would be inexpensive insurance in an area that doesn't typically get a lot of power surges. ;-) However, if you're investing a lot of money in hardware warranties ($150,000 for this consumer device!), read all the fine print. It's worth noting that Woods/CCI excludes refrigerators from coverage unless you purchase a "Home Appliance Series" screen protector. This will presumably include a single-outlet model with slightly lower specs. Maybe they don't want to cover fridges plugged into multiple sockets, maybe with other appliances, I don't know. But nowadays many refrigerators are electronic devices. Oddly enough, however, GE advised against using them with their current-sensitive compressors because the fuse could "kinda" interfere with restarting (it makes no distinction between protections that trip after a surge and those that don't). .
