In general, the wooden box is not bad. You get what you pay for. The double sided board is great. The board side is what we use the most. I would recommend this for the older preschool/age group. Some of the magnets are very small (less than a dime) and have an odd, unrecognizable shape. They are meant to be put together like a jigsaw puzzle, which didn't work for me with my toddler. I wish the box had better storage as the top panel just lays flat and falls out easily. If the parts are not kept in a bag, you have to clean up. I taped it shut when it was removed. And because of all the little things, I wouldn't recommend this for travel.
