Good news. The rack is a solid device. The bikes held up well at 70mph so no problem. The latch closure is really easy to use, good idea. The bad news: note that it is very heavy and will NOT fold onto your car like the more expensive ones. Difficult to remove and store. I can't stress enough that you need to be in good shape to handle this; it's a lot harder than i expected. And takes up a lot of storage space. Also, as other reviewers point out, the locks on the bike rack itself don't work very well. I tried putting graphite in them but it didn't help. One note: if you have the latest Subaru with sonar in the bumpers, this strut will disable it. It's okay, but something I wouldn't have thought of
