update: I've been using it for over a year. The filter housing is holding up well. Looks just as beautiful as the day it arrived. I have to change the filter every three months because a biofilm of iron bacteria has formed in the water. However, my shower head works fine and my water is great. Before I bought it, I would have ruined the shower head for a year because the holes are slowly clogging with a biofilm of iron bacteria. My beautiful nickel satin shower head, which I bought around the same time I bought this filter, works just as well as the day I bought it. Original post: The water in my well is of good quality, except for the insane amount of iron. It is not solid and has no other impurities. Until I buy a whole house iron filter (the good ones are expensive) it helps. I got dermatitis on my scalp from iron. Before I knew it was the gland I had bought ketoconazole shampoo and well water shampoo but neither helped. I first bought a manual filter from Sprite and it worked great. This filter should last longer before it needs to be replaced. So far it works great. The dermatitis is gone. I haven't tried changing the filter yet. If there are any problems I will update my rating. The shower tiles only show traces of iron residues that accumulate after the use of filters. The nickel plating matches sanitary ware.
