I just received these alternative needles for my Shure M44-7. the original of these alternatives. The originals are significantly louder at the exit. They are slightly too big to fit in the cartridge. They fit, but it takes a little more effort than I'd like. The base of the stylus gets too close to the actual vinyl during playback than I'd like. I'm concerned that this may damage the vinyl if I'm not careful not to let the base of the stylus touch the vinyl when playing. All in all a good and cheap alternative to the originals, but definitely not a perfect replacement. . I think it's good to have them on hand as backups in case you get stuck and need to change needles as they are so cheap. Will I recommend? I'm not sure as there may be better alternatives. I think it also depends on your usage. If I was just playing records for personal enjoyment, that would be fine. But since I'm a scratch DJ, time will tell when I take them apart to see how they perform and hold up.
