Review on 🐈 Hoopet Cat Climbing Shelf Wall Mounted: Rubber Wood Steps for Climbing, Playing, and Scratching by Stacy Watkins

The idea is there but the execution isn't

We have 2 kittens that love to climb high but only one of them is adventurous enough to make jumps. So his brother sits on the floor making noise until we help him up. I thought these steps might be a solution to this problem, but after partially building them I have too many problems to rely on. First you need to choose which direction you want your stairs to go and buy the right set. I have a feeling that some clever processing could make them reversible. Clever machining would require more material, however, and they appear to be made from the bare minimum of wood the designer thinks they could get away with. The ladder is only about 2 inches wide and an inch thick if that's the case. The first thing my wife said when we took them out of the box was that she didn't think the kitten would be able to latch onto them to jump off them. It didn't matter though, because another feature of the small steps was that they broke when I tightened the screws to place them on the base. I thought the metal threads would protect them, but moderate pressure (less I would use on IKEA furniture) part of the wood gap where the screw was. The best I can say about these steps is that they gave me some ideas on how to make my own to keep the cats happy. I encourage you to do the same.
