Too high for an arthritic dog and slippery as hell.
I had to take out 3/4 of the filling so my arthritic dog could even climb on it. The chew stability factor means that it has a very smooth surface and slides all over the wooden floor which also makes it impossible for him to climb on. I buy some styrofoam egg crates, cut them up and just toss them in the corner. If another dog chews on it, so be it, I just throw in a little more. I'm tired of worrying about covers and colors and other stuff. I spent a fortune finding the right dog bed and I've given up. Naked Foam is available now.
