While I have a webcam on my work Mac, my Mac is connected to a large monitor and the laptop is closed (my cat thinks it's so he can sleep on it). We use webcams for some work meetings and my old Mac monitor freezes when the laptop is sometimes open and sometimes not, so instead I decided to get a webcam for those meetings and put it on my big monitor. Unfortunately, the microphone connected to the webcam seems to be affected by the monitor, so there is noise during calls. But since my old monitor is everything (no speakers), I'd have to rely on the laptop's speakers. With the laptop closed, this isn't the best way to hear. So I wear a headset instead. I have to say that this webcam works flawlessly. I turn it on when I need it and turn it off when I don't need it. (I have a lot of USB ports) and had no trouble getting it to work with my Mac.
