Just started 3D printing on this amazing machine and I have to say it does a great job. I've never printed anything before but found the Longer Orange 30 to be very quick and easy to get up and running in no time. Rather than using something as simple as the attached files for my first few prints, I used the objects you see in the photos. Talk about Crucible, but I've really learned a lot about making props this way. The very first print I made on this machine was a cat. I was very happy with the overall quality of the print produced. The only issue I had is the thumb on one side - I couldn't properly support it and it looks slightly melted. My second print was a green knight. It was extremely difficult to get all the supports in there and I lost some of the fabric at the bottom of the garment because I put the supports too close to the fabric and they came loose during the dry cleaning. (Note: As you can imagine, I didn't sand to remove the rest of the support on the base and figure.) After the knight, I had a small problem with a leak in the vat, which turned into a big problem. I'll get to that in a moment. After solving this problem, I printed out the ring. The details are pretty good and apart from some support tabs that need to be removed, it looks great. As for the issue I had after printing the knight, I had an issue where the resin somehow got into the area between the vat and the screen. I have no idea how it got there, but the next print I made between the knight and the ring turned out to be a very expensive resin stone. I removed the vat and inspected the machine and was sad to find that the gasket around the screen had failed and tar had gotten onto the wires. I removed the screen hoping to clean the wires and the corner broke off with light and careful handling. I contacted the company's support team and received a quick response. Within a few days they sent me a new vat, lcd screen and a new bottle of resin for my concerns. I was very impressed with their commitment to customer service/customer service to say the least and as such I have no problem recommending this purchase. I'm back and working, very happy with my wonderful 3D printer. My only advice to you on this: inspect the print carefully after/before each print, check the tub for leaks and be extremely careful with the resin as as some have noted elsewhere the material tends to tarnish Landing in places you don't like. I do not want. . never expected it to work. I am currently using duct tape to seal and will update this review if I have any news to report. I've heard Kapton tape is the way to go, and I'll probably switch to it as soon as possible. I only gave the touchscreen 3 stars because it's not as responsive as I would like. This works fine, but I usually have to make sure the nail and fleshy part of my finger are touching it at the same time for it to register contact. Apart from that, it is otherwise clear and easy to use. There can only be a headache sometimes. The software that came with it seems fine, but I actually found Chitubox much easier to use with the required plugin file to make it work with this printer. Both are free but I had trouble finding the plugin. I followed the link provided by this YouTube guy: gj-ii3XzTEw. This plugin worked great for me and after installing it I never touched the included software again. A few words about Chitubox: DO NOT use the auto-support feature as it will most likely mess up your print, AND there seems to be a bug on really high-resolution layers where holes placed in objects don't go all the way through. You can find a mention of it on their forum. I had to use a drill to force the resin through a hole that didn't quite go on either model. However, this is a problem with the Chitubox and not the Longer printer. As for my settings - I used Anycubic translucent green plant based "safe" resin with the following settings and they worked fine for this resin: layer height 0.04, bottom layer 6, exposure time 10 and exposure time 60. I switched to Layer Height to 0.05mm after not completing the hole by 0.04mm but that didn't seem to help. Maybe that was because I didn't make a hole of sufficient diameter. I am not sure. Again, this isn't Longer's fault. The quality of the seal can be seen above all on the knight, right down to the buckled leather straps protruding from the side of the breastplate. My advice to newbies like me in the support structures is to check out the updated 3DPrintingPro settings on YouTube. Very, very helpful stuff. You see what I was able to do in a few days after receiving my printer. If I can do it, then anyone can. Barring one issue, I am very impressed with Longer and his printer. They offer great customer service and although the replacement screen was shipped from China, it arrived in just a few days. Be sure to visit the Facebook support page for news and tips. Oh, and one of the founders/founders of the company earned his PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology. Very cool. I was nervous to accept such an item with no 3D printing experience but I am very happy and satisfied with the return on my money it gave me. For the print size possible at the recommended price, I think it's a worthwhile investment and entry into a Hobby+. While we decide if it will be possible to earn from it.
