It's just a bulb but the build quality seems solid. Color temperature is as expected. And with the right dimmer switch they work great for a good range of brightness. I have some over the vanity in our master bathroom where I like very low light in the morning when I wake up in the dark while getting ready for work and then when I slide the slider to full brightness it's a good brightness, to pull out splinters with tweezers and do other delightful tasks in the bathroom. Very good quality at a good price, I am completely satisfied!
