Works good, smells great

I use them to "clean up" a 40,000 cubic foot (3500 square foot floor area with 10 and 12 foot ceilings) room. I tie the swab sticks with fine cotton thread (7 or 8 weaves spaced about 1 inch or more apart) and then use a band saw to cut them into several short (bouncy) lengths. I made a "bed of nails" using a 4 x 4 x 1 inch piece of wood and drywall screws (with three downward protruding for offset/sturdy support), placed the cut piece of incense on top (after pressing/removing the "Stick " from the middle cut off section - for air passage/flow) and ignite with a propane torch (about the only way that works well). To be safe, I stick nails in the center/bottom of a cheap 10" stainless steel metal bowl and rely on a layer of ash on the board to keep it from igniting (or anything other than incense with a torch). By directing the flame of a propane torch through the hole, I can get the incense section to burn from the inside out. I get 3 or 4 "uses/refires" before the piece burns out completely. A "use" fills the entire volume; and allows me to smear 2 or 3 days before the "section" is used up. I know the above may sound crazy and "overkill", but this works pretty well. Typically, for anything smaller than a large room/volume/amphitheater, smearing is inefficient and can be difficult. Blowing over a regular sized smudge stick to prevent it from catching fire will often eject hot coals (possible damage of the carpet/fire hazard). - With the method described, not only can you use daub sticks in small applications/applications, they don't give off sparks/embers at all. really cheap but for this kind of thing at this level / use a fair value / a fair quality. RECOMMENDED.
