It worked well for me .
And I am nowhere close to being a mechanic. I bunged up some threads working on the lawn mower and this saved the day. As someone else had written, I used vise grips to hold the nut and oiled it well before chasing the threads. I'm not sure how much holding my breath and praying helped, but it saved me a very expensive repair bill.
